Connie Montgomery

Connie Montgomery is a graduate of the Henry Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia and has been a contributor to North Georgia Living Magazine, as well as other publications. Her job description has expanded of late, from writer to grandmother. Connie is also a contributor to Lake Martin Living Magazine.

Dr. R. J. Itkin, DVM, MS, DACVIM

Dr. R. J. Itkin is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). He has undergone extensive training and certification to achieve this status. He received his DVM from the University of Georgia. Directly out of veterinary school, he entered an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Louisiana State University. Afterward he spent a year in clinical practice in Atlanta and then entered a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Illinois. While at Illinois, he achieved a Master’s of Science degree, published several scientific papers, received a national excellence in research award and was a Morris Animal Foundation Fellow. He remained on staff as a clinical instructor in the PhD program. His true love was clinical medicine so he left to begin his career in clinical specialty practice. As a Diplomate of the ACVIM, he specializes in the treatment of dogs and cats with complex medical problems. He is the small animal internist at All Pets Emergency and Referral Center on Highway 9 in Alpharetta. Dr. Itkin sees cases by referral only, Monday through Friday. Joe Kitchens has a fascinating ‘day job’ as the curator of the Funk Museum at Reinhardt College in Waleska. He is the author of the must desired Quail Plantations of South Georgia and North Florida. He is also a wonderful, multi-talented writer and has written articles of general interest, beautiful poetry, and delightful and humorous tales for the North Georgia Diary.

Farris is all about books! Farris not only writes book reviews for North Georgia Living Magazine, he is the owner of Yawn’s Books in downtown Canton.
