Dear Readers:
Christmas is coming toward us so fast! And do you know what that means????
It means that they bring a big tree into the living room for me to climb…and it has these little shiny things dangling all over it that I can bat into the floor…and these…what?? What do you mean that isn’t what Christmas is about? Oh, you mean I get to eat turkey and…what? But…it isn’t about that stocking full of catnip treats??
Oh.
Good grief, they’ve got me back at work talking about what other animals are doing for the holidays. Fine, but do we have to do dogs this time???
Oh, all right!
Yes, Christmas is an especially fun time for animals around North Georgia. There is just so much for us to do!
Like….
The Atlanta Humane Society is sponsoring their annual Pets with Santa on 19th through 21st, December 3rd through 5th and December 10th through 12th. The Pets with Santa in November is at Doguroo and the ones in December are at Atlantic Station Central Park. For more info, click here.
The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (in Gainesville) is doing something special for pets on November 19th through 21st. That’s the time for everyone in Hall County and the surrounding area to bring your pets for their photo with Santa Claws. Fox Gradin of Celestial Studios in Gainesville donates her time and her wonderful photography to the HSNEGA for this project (kudos to her!) and photos are $30 for six different poses. Best of all, you can bring almost any pet…they say “All furry friends are welcome!” For more information, visit them here. All proceeds go to the HSNEGA.
Do you want a bunny for Christmas, or know someone who does but you or they don’t know how to take care of one? Did you know there is a North Georgia Chapter of the House Rabbit Society that will help teach you just that? It’s true! And on November 20th and December 20th, they are teaching Bunny 101 to anyone interested in learning how to take care of a pet rabbit! Want to know more? Visit them right here.
Of course, my people’s favorite Christmas Pet event is the annual Reindog Parade at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. This year, it will be held on December 11th from 11 am to 1 pm. You don’t have a dog? (Well, my people don’t either, thank goodness!) You still can go enjoy the parade!! Learn more about it here.
Now, is that all?? Good….can I have a bunny for Christmas??
What do you mean by that????
Good Grief, sometimes, your people can just be so…..
Thom
