Just For Halloween

If you are a dog (which I most definitely am not!) there is something coming up next Saturday that you might enjoy.

Dogs do love attention…of the slobbery sort…and you dogs out there have a chance to join with your owners in a special Halloween Pet Parade in Canton on this coming Saturday.

The catch is … you have to wear your Halloween costume. As a cat, I have been forced to tolerate wearing a costume for Halloween before. They even dressed me up like a big fat bumble bee! I wish I could have gotten that “stinger” to actually work! The abuse some have to tolerate….

Dogs, however, have such limited discretion; they often seem to enjoy the attention they garner when dressed up in silly hats and such. Pfft!

So, I just wanted you to know that on October 30th, in downtown Canton, there will be something happening called the Great Pumpkin Festival. It will begin at 1 pm and there is much there for some to enjoy (none of whom, I assure you, will be cats!) until 4 pm.

There will be music, games, a bounce house, face painting and more. Some of the fun will include:
Trick or Treating 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, a pumpkin carving contest for adults from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (You need to bring your own pumpkin and carving tools, by the way), a kids’ costume contest and parade at 2:00 pm and, here it is…a dog costume contest and parade at 3:00 pm.

And listen to this….. A little bird told me (feathers…? I don’t see any feathers!) that there will even be prizes for all the contests!!

So, if you like Halloween, you should go. Even if your owner puts you in a silly hat or….. dresses you up like a ….bee!
