To some that may sound like an odd combination – The Lakewood 400 Show. After all, Lakewood is the area south of Atlanta where the old Lakewood Fairgrounds- the fairgrounds for the city of Atlanta- were for many, many years.

But there is a reason.

The original version of the Lakewood 400 Market –which was called simply the Lakewood Antique Show- was open for many years at the old Lakewood Fairgrounds. It was very, very well-known and respected in the antiques business, and was held every single month for many years. It was also covered in many publications, including national ones. Although everyone was very saddened when the City of Atlanta decided not to rent the fairgrounds to the Lakewood Show after having been there for so long, for many in the antiques business – particularly those in North Georgia, it was a great thing to hear that the show would be moving – just a little way off of Highway 400 in Cumming.

And there, every month, you can find one of the nicest antiques and collectibles shows in the southeast.

Here is what you may not know about the Lakewood 400 Market:
The Lakewood 400 Antiques Market is conveniently located close to Georgia Highway 400, and just a mile north of Exit 13 on Georgia Highway 9. The market is housed in a 75,000 square foot, completely climate-controlled building. It has room for over 500 dealer spaces, and plenty of very convenient parking; there is even a full-service restaurant (with great chicken salad, burgers and even home-made lemonade!).
The show is open the third weekend of every month, and is open year round. Hours are: 9 am to 5 pm Friday, 9am to 6 pm Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm Sunday. Admission is $3 per person (children under 12 are admitted free) and the admission is good all weekend.
The Lakewood 400 is a great place to find services related to antiques, too, like jewelry repair or furniture restoration service. They also have a custom framer that actually does on-site framing at the show.
The Lakewood 400 Antiques Market is October 15, 16, and 17, November 19, 20 and 21 and December 17, 18 and 19.
